Shoe Boxes – Finish Strong

This is a very worthwhile ministry. It’s something that we are going to get into and back 100% in the next couple years. It’s easy to do, very inexpensive an extremely rewarding.  Please read it, and give me your comments or feedback on what you think about this. I appreciate you very much thank you!

Franklin Graham’s shoebox ministry is known as Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization headed by Franklin Graham. Here are the key points about the ministry and how to get involved:

– **Purpose and Vision**: The aim is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world through the delivery of shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, personal items, and other gifts.

– **Global Reach**: Operation Christmas Child has delivered gift-filled shoeboxes to over 168 million children in more than 160 countries and territories since its inception in 1993.

– **Annual Campaign**: The collection of shoeboxes occurs annually, typically in November. Individuals, families, churches, schools, and groups fill and donate shoeboxes during this period.

– **How to Pack a Shoebox**:

– **Choose a Gender and Age Range**: Decide whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl and the child’s age category (2-4, 5-9, or 10-14 years).

– **Fill with Gifts**: Select a quality “wow” toy such as a doll or soccer ball with a pump, and add other toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and accessories.

– **Pray**: Include a personal note and photo if you wish, and pray for the child who will receive your box.

– **Drop-Off Locations**: During the collection week, you can drop off your shoebox at one of the many drop-off locations worldwide. Locations can be found on the Operation Christmas Child website.

– **Year-Round Volunteering**: Besides packing shoeboxes, there are opportunities to volunteer at a processing center, serve as a year-round volunteer in your area, or promote the project within your community.

– **Prayer Network**: The ministry emphasizes the power of prayer, encouraging individuals to pray for the children receiving the boxes, for the ministry’s impact, and for the communities it serves.

– **Follow Your Box**: By making the suggested donation online, donors can receive a tracking label to learn the destination of their shoebox gift.

To get involved, you can start by visiting the Samaritan’s Purse website, specifically the Operation Christmas Child section, to find detailed packing instructions, drop-off locations near you, and additional volunteer opportunities.
