You Can Know Your Future – Finish Strong
Imagine you have a magical mirror that shows not just your current self, but who you will be in a year. While this may sound like fantasy, such a mirror does exist in a sense. It’s your daily habits. These habits, whether they involve what you eat, how much you exercise, or how you spend your free time, are predictive of where you will be in the future. Understanding this can help us make better choices today. Like the “old saying” goes…. “The secret of your future lies in your daily routine”.
 ### The Impact of Daily Choices
Daily habits are powerful because they build upon themselves. Small actions, repeated over time, lead to significant results. For instance, reading for 20 minutes a day enriches your knowledge gradually, and consistently dedicating time to exercise improves your health steadily. This incremental progress is what ultimately shapes our future health, knowledge, and character.  Or if a person wants to become wiser, then read a charter from proverb a day from the Bible.   There are 31 chapters in the book of proverbs. So if you’re weird one chapter a day, you get 30 or 31 in a month. If you read it consistently that means you will read the book of proverbs over 12 times in the year. I guarantee you will become more wiser!  As far as exercise goes, you might not be able to do 1 push up. But you can start by pushing up against a wall, and gradually increase, and guess what? After one year, I’ll bet you can do 10 pushups at least. But we can talk about exercise in another blog. But you get my point where I’m heading with doing daily habits.
 ### Reflecting on Wise Words
The significance of small, consistent efforts is echoed in the Bible, albeit in a broader ethical context. In Luke 16:10, Jesus notes, “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” This idea suggests that our approach to small tasks reflects our approach to larger ones. If you can manage to stick to small, positive habits, it indicates an ability to handle greater responsibilities and challenges.
Another verse that reflects the power of habitual actions is Galatians 6:7, where it is written, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” This principle of sowing and reaping is akin to the outcomes we see from our habits. Just as a farmer plants seeds and later harvests the crops, our daily actions plant the seeds for future results.
 ### Building Better Habits
Knowing that habits can predict and shape your future, how can you cultivate habits that lead to the best version of yourself? Here are a few tips:
  •  **Identify Key Habits**: Focus on habits that will most significantly impact your goals. If health is your priority, habits around diet and exercise will be key. If you’re focused on learning, establish regular reading or study times.
  •  **Start Small and Build**: Begin with manageable changes and gradually build on them. Small successes can motivate you to stick with your habits and add more over time.
  •  **Consistency Over Intensity**: Regularity is more transformative than intensity. It’s better to engage in moderate exercise every day than to have an intense workout once a week.
  •  **Monitor Your Progress**: Keep a journal or use an app to track how well you’re sticking to your habits. Seeing your progress can provide motivation to continue.
  •  **Adjust as Needed**: Be flexible and willing to adjust your habits as your goals or circumstances change. What works well one month may need tweaking the next.
 ### Conclusion
While we don’t have a literal mirror that shows us our future, our daily habits provide a clear picture of where we’re headed. Each day, with every choice, we decide a little bit of our future. By adopting and maintaining beneficial habits, we set the course for a healthier, wiser, and perhaps even happier self. Just as the scriptures suggest, the seeds we plant through our daily actions are likely to bear fruit in the future, shaping the person we will become.  Take care and GOD bless.  Don’t forget to sign up for my blog and website.
